Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026 · Applies to the Viordi iOS app and to this website. This is a translation of the French version, which prevails in case of any discrepancy.
In one sentence: the Viordi app collects no data. The app works with no account required, no publisher server (none exists) and no third-party SDK. Your data never comes to us, and you decide whether or not it leaves your device: at first launch, on an Apple device, Viordi asks whether your content should sync across your devices through your private iCloud or stay on this device only, and you can change that choice at any time.
What the app stores
- Productivity: goals, categories and actions; habits and streaks; planner and events.
- Personal: journal entries, photos and voice memos added to the journal, notes, visualization quotes and images.
- Preferences: themes, home screen layout, focus and notification settings, first name entered on the app home screen.
This data is never transmitted to, nor synced with, a publisher server, for one simple reason: there is no Viordi server. It may be included in the normal backup of your device (iCloud or computer), handled by Apple according to your iOS settings. The next section describes the main place it can go outside your device; the others (Calendar copies, shortcuts, your messages) are described further down.
Where your data lives, and who can access it
Viordi offers two storage modes, and you are asked at first launch. “On all my devices” keeps your content up to date from one device to another through the private iCloud database of your Apple Account; that is the option Viordi suggests. iCloud sync is available only on an Apple device. “On this device only” keeps everything local. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Data & Privacy → STORAGE, and a change of mode takes effect the next time Viordi launches. “On this device only” keeps your content in the app, on this device. If you connect Apple Calendar, the copies described below are written regardless of this choice.
What syncing means. Your content leaves the device and is stored by Apple, in your personal iCloud space, under the iCloud agreement between you and Apple and under Apple’s privacy policy. It passes through no publisher server, and the publisher has no access to it: a user’s private database is closed to the app developer. No Viordi account is created and no additional sign-in is required.
What goes up, and what does not. Syncing carries the content stored in the app database: goals, categories and actions, habits and streaks, planner and events, journal entries, notes, visualization quotes. It does not carry files: photos and voice memos added to the journal, like visualization images, stay on the device where you added them. On your other devices, the journal entry arrives without its photo or memo, and the app tells you so where they would have appeared. It does not carry your preferences either (themes, home screen layout, notification and focus settings, first name, Screen Time selection), which do not sync from one device to another.
If you turn syncing off. The change takes effect the next time Viordi launches. What has already been uploaded to your iCloud stays there: turning syncing off does not erase it. Order matters: while syncing is on, “Delete All Data” also removes the iCloud copy; once syncing is off, that button only affects this device. If you have already turned it off, you can remove the copy yourself: iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Viordi. Deleting the app does not empty your iCloud either, and the same path applies.
How long
Your data stays on the device as long as the app is installed, and until you delete it, item by item in the app, or all at once with “Delete All Data”. Deleting the app removes its data container according to iOS rules, with one exception: the memory of your subscription stays in the iOS keychain (see “PRO subscription and trial”). There is no copy on the publisher side. Outside the app’s storage, there are two kinds of copies: the one in your private iCloud, if syncing is or has been on, and, if you have connected Apple Calendar, those written to Calendar. The iCloud copy is erased through the path above; the Calendar copies are deleted in the Calendar app, as explained below. The backup of your device is handled by Apple according to your iOS settings.
What the app does not do
- No account required, no email address requested.
- No publisher server: Viordi runs none, and therefore has nowhere to receive your data.
- No collection of personal or usage data, no telemetry, no analytics.
- No ads, no trackers, no third-party SDK.
- No data resale, no targeted advertising.
iOS permissions, all optional
- Notifications: for the reminders you schedule (habits, events, due dates, journal, timer). Notifications are generated locally, on the device.
- Apple Calendar: to show your Apple Calendar events in Planner and to write copies of your Viordi events, if you connect Apple Calendar. iOS asks for full access.
- Photo library: to choose photos to add to your journal or images to your visualization. The iOS picker only gives access to the ones you choose.
- Microphone: to record voice memos in your journal.
- Screen Time: for the Blocked Mode of Focus, which pauses the apps you choose during a session. Your selection stays on the device, and iOS only passes opaque identifiers to Viordi: the app knows neither the names of your apps, nor your activity, nor your screen time.
Each permission can be granted, refused or withdrawn at any time in iOS Settings, without blocking the rest of the app. The Planner and Habits widgets (PRO) read the app’s data on the device, without any network; on the Lock Screen, they can show the title of your next event or the name of your habits, if you add them there.
Apple Calendar, if you connect it
Viordi reads the events of your Apple Calendar to show them in Planner, and writes to Calendar a copy of each of your Viordi events: title, notes, link and dates, with a Viordi technical identifier in the notes. The copy is written to a “Viordi” calendar; if no synced calendar is available, to the device’s default calendar. This does not depend on the storage choice: while Apple Calendar is connected, copies are written, even in “On this device only” mode.
Depending on the calendar the copy is written to, Calendar syncs it with your accounts (iCloud or another provider) or keeps it on the device: your device’s system does it, not Viordi, and Viordi sends nothing to a publisher server.
Disconnecting Apple Calendar stops the copies and deletes nothing in Calendar. “Delete All Data” does not delete the copies already written either: they stay in the Calendar app, where you delete them, for example by deleting the “Viordi” calendar. When you delete an event in Viordi, Viordi asks whether its copy should be deleted too.
Share with Shortcuts
Viordi can make its content available to Apple’s Shortcuts app, so that you can use it elsewhere, for instance with an artificial intelligence. This is set up in Settings → Connections → Share with Shortcuts.
Everything is off to begin with, module by module, for reading as well as writing: until you allow something, no shortcut gets anything. A module allowed for writing can, conversely, create content in the app (an action, a note, an event), after you confirm.
What you allow here can be read by a shortcut, then sent by that shortcut to a third-party service. From that moment, that service’s terms apply: Viordi does not control what it does with it and cannot retrieve it. Keep in mind, too, that an export may contain information about other people, for example a name written in your journal, or in the title or notes of an event.
These permissions can be withdrawn at any time in the same place, and “Delete All Data” resets them.
PRO subscription and trial
The PRO subscription is handled by Apple (App Store). Payment, billing and subscription management go entirely through your Apple Account: Viordi has access neither to your identity nor to your payment method. The 7-day trial is an introductory offer from the App Store: it starts when you subscribe, through Apple’s payment sheet. The subscription renews automatically at the end of the trial, unless cancelled at least 24 hours before. The offer is granted once per Apple Account, regardless of device or reinstalls. The memory of your subscription (so that your access is not cut by mistake) is kept the same way.
Your actions
- Export: your text content and your settings can be exported at any time, to PDF or Markdown, module by module (Settings → Data & Privacy). Not included: the files of photos, voice memos and visualization images (the export keeps only their name, caption or date), nor archived categories and goals.
- Delete: the “Delete All Data” button permanently removes goals, habits, planner, journal, notes, visualization and preferences. If syncing is on, the deletion travels up through your iCloud and also empties your other devices, as soon as they reconnect; photos and memos added from another device stay on that device. In “On this device only” mode, the deletion applies to this device alone, and what was already uploaded to your iCloud stays there. The action is irreversible. Copies already written to Calendar are not deleted, nor is the memory of the subscription, kept in the iOS keychain.
- Choose where your data lives: Settings → Data & Privacy → STORAGE, to switch from syncing across your devices to “On this device only”, or back.
This website
viordi.com is a static site: it uses no cookies, no trackers and no analytics script. Only one value is kept in your browser on this device: your light or dark theme choice, and only when you press the light/dark button in the header. The site reads it on each visit to show that theme. Nothing is sent. It is hosted by Infomaniak, in Switzerland, a country covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission. Like any host, Infomaniak keeps technical connection logs (IP addresses) for security and for the proper operation of the service; depending on the hosting plan, Infomaniak may give us access to these logs and to the visitor statistics derived from them (number of visits, pages viewed); if we consult them, we do not cross-reference them with any other data and build no profile from them. See the legal notice.
Changes
This page shows its last update date.
The same commitment holds for the future: if a future version changes anything described above, this page will be updated and dated before that version is released, and the label reviewed accordingly. Viordi’s design principle does not change: your content is not meant to pass through a publisher server, and no such server exists.
When you write to us
If you use “Your Feedback Matters” in the app, or write to contact@viordi.com, your message and your email address reach us, along with the app version and the system version that the app adds to the email. This is the only case where information about you arrives at the publisher, and you are the one who decides it. It is used only to reply to you and to fix what you report, is never used for anything else, is shared with no one, and is kept only as long as needed to handle your request, then deleted. Basis: our legitimate interest in supporting the app (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). At any time, at the same address, you may ask for access to your message, for its rectification, restriction or deletion, and you may object to this processing (Article 21 GDPR).
Your rights
The GDPR grants everyone rights of access, rectification, erasure and portability over their personal data. Since Viordi is built without any transmission to the publisher, these rights are exercised directly, without asking anyone: open the app (access), edit your content (rectification), “Delete All Data” (erasure), export your text and settings to PDF or Markdown (portability, excluding photo, voice memo and image files). The publisher holds no data about you on which to exercise these rights elsewhere, apart from the messages you write to it (see above). Outside the app, two kinds of copies may remain: the one in your private iCloud, if syncing is or has been on, which is removed through iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Viordi; and, if you have connected Apple Calendar, those written to Calendar, which you delete in the Calendar app. For any question: contact@viordi.com; you may also contact the data protection authority of your country of residence (the CNIL in France, the APD in Belgium).
